On Intel, Big Tech, and Why This Work Matters

Eleven Years. One Week. A Lot of Unfinished Business.
This week is a significant one for me personally. Over 11 years ago, I walked onto the Intel Corporation campus for my very first day. I was a Green Badge — a contractor — not a Blue Badge. But I didn't care. I was on a Big Tech campus. I was working hard alongside brilliant people. I was genuinely happy. I loved my co-workers. I poured everything into those two contracts.
I was hoping for a third contract. Maybe even a Blue Badge offer. Neither materialized. What did materialize: my work was absorbed, the company thrived, and in the years that followed, Intel laid off tens of thousands of employees and saved billions. Then AI lifted the stock from roughly $18/share in late 2025 to nearly $130 — driven in part by the U.S. Government's involvement, NVIDIA partnerships, and new industry deals. I'm not bitter about Intel's success. I still respect that company. I still want to return. But I want the waiting game to end, and I want the informal practice of blacklisting candidates — what some call "don't hire my guy" — to stop. It is illegal. It is wrong. It has cost me years.
