🐉 Happy Birthday, Son Gohan!
🐉
🐉 Dragon Ball Z · May 18th · Anime Culture
Happy Birthday, Son Gohan! 🐉🎂
Today — May 18th — is the birthday of Son Gohan, the half-Saiyan scholar, the reluctant warrior, and one of the most beloved characters in all of anime. A genius who unlocked power beyond imagination, and yet always chose books over battle when given the choice. Happy birthday to the one who defeated Cell and made us all cry when he went Super Saiyan 2. 🐉✨

Now — if I were Gohan, I know exactly what I'd want for my birthday. I'd ask Trunks to have a word with his parents: get Vegeta and Bulma to pool their resources — the Prince of all Saiyans' pride and Bulma's Capsule Corporation fortune — and buy me either a German-engineered sports wagon sedan (an Audi RS6 Avant? A BMW M5 Touring? A Mercedes-AMG E63 S Estate? All of the above?) or a proper JDM sports car worthy of a half-Saiyan scholar. A Nissan GT-R. A Toyota GR Supra. Maybe even a Mazda RX-7. Something that screams I may have a PhD, but I still go fast.

Why can't I afford one myself? I'll tell you straight: I am a scholar — I hold a B.A. in Economic Development Studies from The Ohio State University 🌰, I carry certificates in Data Analysis and Project Management, I have worked at Alphabet (Google), BMW Financial Services, and Intel Corporation, I advise the Air and Space Forces, and my technology was deployed through the Agility Prime program. By any reasonable measure, I should have a salary that reflects that track record. And yet — like Gohan, who was always overlooked in favor of more "conventional" fighters — I continue to face the very real barrier of discrimination based on the place I was born. Being an immigrant, a dual Franco-American, a Muslim, an Afghan-French-American — in rooms where those identities are not always welcomed — creates ceilings that talent and credentials alone cannot break through. That's the truth. Gohan would understand. 🐉💙

So Trunks — if you're reading this — go talk to your dad and your mom. I'll take the Audi RS6, merci. 🏎️🇩🇪

Trump Calls Off Iran Attack at Gulf States' Request — But How Long Will the Pause Hold?

President Trump announced that a planned military strike on Iran has been placed on hold at the formal request of Gulf allies. The reversal came as Al-Jazeera reported Israel has killed over 3,000 in Lebanon since March — and Reuters revealed Pakistan has quietly deployed a jet squadron and thousands of troops to Saudi Arabia during the conflict. Meanwhile, Foreign Policy is asking a harder question: is Iran shaping up to be Trump's greatest foreign policy failure? The region remains on a knife-edge.
